INEFI Boosts Updates in Athletics for Coaches and Teachers
Santo Domingo – The National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI), through its Teaching Directorate, held an update workshop in the area of athletics with the aim of strengthening the continuous training of physical education technicians and teachers. The event, which took place on the 11th and 12th of this month, was held at the Faculty of Education of the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD). The training initiative was led by Orlando Taveras, teaching director of INEFI, and was attended by 100 technicians from educational regions 10 and 15.Key Workshop Topics
During the workshop, various crucial topics for athletics were addressed. Pedro Ynoa focused on running, José Lara developed the jumping module, and Sandino Adames provided content on throwing events. In addition to the theoretical part, the facilitators conducted practical sessions at the Eugenio María de Hostos venue, allowing participants to apply the knowledge acquired.The teaching director, Orlando Taveras, highlighted that from the Teaching Directorate and with the support of the executive director of INEFI, Alberto Rodríguez Mella, a new training approach is being promoted, focused on constant updating and the implementation of active and innovative methodologies in the teaching of physical education. Also present at the activity were the director of the School of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Confesor Lapaix, as well as the technicians José J. Troncoso and Sandino Adames.“These workshops are part of a sustainable project, which responds to a real need of the educational system in the area of physical education,” expressed Taveras.
