Santo Domingo – The National Institute of Physical Education (Inefi) extended its “National Tour of Sports Equipment Delivery” to the border area of the Dominican Republic. This initiative directly benefited 10 educational centers in Regional 18, located in the municipalities of Jimaní and Duvergé. The main goal is to continue promoting physical education and sports in schools throughout the country.

Official Delivery and Supervision

The official delivery took place at the Liceo María Trinidad Sánchez. Cristian Hernández, director of the Inefi Cabinet, led the event on behalf of the executive director, Alberto Rodríguez Mella. In addition to the delivery, Hernández supervised the local sports facilities. The purpose was to evaluate the progress of Inefi’s programs and to learn about the needs of the school community.

The institutional objective is to ensure that every boy, girl, and young person in the country, regardless of their geographical location, has the necessary tools for the dignified practice of school sports.

In Duvergé, the María Trinidad Sánchez High School, Nuestra Señora del Carmen, Las Mercedes, Manolo Perdomo, Filomena Pérez Pérez and José Cabrera received support.

Upcoming Deliveries

The Inefi schedule contemplates the continuation of these deliveries during the month of June in Regional 09.
  • June 3: Mao (District 09-01) and Esperanza (District 09-02)
