The delivery was led by the Minister of Youth, Carlos Valdez, who explained that the program arose from studies conducted during the “Youth with B de Barrio” sessions, where various sports and recreational needs were identified in vulnerable areas. Valdez highlighted that the initiative seeks to transform improvised spaces into adequate and safe facilities for sports development and healthy coexistence. The court in the Framboyán sector was formally delivered, providing the community with an ideal space for recreation, sports, and the social integration of young people. With this delivery, the program “Una Cancha Pa’ mi Barrio” has impacted 17 areas throughout the country, including Haina. The project continues to expand with the renovation of sports spaces in vulnerable sectors, with the aim of delivering more than 200 courts throughout the national territory, promoting safer, healthier, and more inclusive environments for Dominican youth. During the activity, community members and young people expressed their satisfaction with the intervention, highlighting the importance of having decent spaces that promote social and sports development in their sectors. Through these programs, the Ministry of Youth continues to work for the integral well-being of Dominican youth, using sports as a tool for social transformation.
