Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Eager for the World Baseball Classic and His Father’s Reaction
SANTO DOMINGO, RD. – Star first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. shared his expectations for the upcoming World Baseball Classic, highlighting the excitement he feels about representing the Dominican Republic.
Guerrero Jr. revealed that one of the most anticipated moments will be to observe his father’s reaction, Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero, when he sees him play in the Dominican Republic national team uniform.
The player is ready to join his teammates and expressed his enthusiasm for participating in the international tournament. He emphasized that he arrives motivated and in optimal physical condition to contribute to the team.
He recalled that, due to an injury, he was unable to participate in the previous edition of the tournament in 2023, which prevented him from fulfilling his dream of competing with the Quisqueyan team. However, he assured that this time he is fully recovered and ready to be part of the team.
Additionally, Guerrero Jr. recounted a friendly encounter with the Japanese player Kazuma Okamoto, whom he jokingly told that “since Saturday they are enemies”, referring to the start of the competition and the competitive atmosphere between the teams, always within a framework of sportsmanship.
