Eagles of Guachupita: Historic Triumph in Dominican Women’s Basketball

SANTO DOMINGO, RD. – Las Águilas de Guachupita consolidate their dominance in Dominican women’s basketball by obtaining their third consecutive championship. This Tuesday, the team defeated Las Cinco Esquinas of the San Carlos club with a score of 72-67, sealing a resounding 3-0 victory in the final series of the XII National Superior Women’s Basketball Tournament “No Gender Violence”. The exciting match took place in the sports center of the Renacer club, located in the capital sector of Guachupita. There, the champions received the Seaboard Cup “Clean Energy” after demonstrating their superiority in a series agreed to the best of five games.

Key Figures in the Victory

The Eagles’ offense was led by the outstanding Mary Coronado, originally from Santiago, who contributed 18 points and seven rebounds. Jennifer Jiménez, from Hato Mayor, shone with 13 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Katherine Constanza contributed nine points, Luzmaury Rodríguez with eight points and five rebounds, and Sugey Monsac with seven points and 10 rebounds. By the San Carlos team, Audry Casto stood out with 23 points, followed by Ana Villanueva with 14 points and 22 rebounds, Tawny Olivero with 12 points and 21 rebounds, and Perla Figueroa with 11 points.

A Consolidated Triumph

The Eagles celebrate their third consecutive crown, after the 2023, 2024 and 2025 championships. This tournament was organized by the Dominican Federation of Clubs (Fedoclubes), under the presidency of Roberto Ramírez. Ramírez, along with Fernando Geraldino, Seaboard’s Social Responsibility manager, presented the Seaboard Cup to the champion team. The club president, Zuleyda Monsac, the general manager Luis Rojas and the leader Amílcar González received the trophy. González has directed the 2024 and 2025 championships, completing the trilogy started in 2023 under the direction of Dagoberto Montás. During these three titles, the Eagles have recorded an impressive record of 47-3 between regular season, semifinals, and finals.
