Gigantes del Cibao Sign Huáscar Brazobán for Next Season

San Francisco de Macorís – The Gigantes del Cibao have announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Huáscar Brazobán, who arrives as a free agent to reinforce the team for the next season of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League.

Brazobán, 36 years old and originally from Santo Domingo, will continue to wear the uniform of the northeastern team, with which he has played consecutively for the last five seasons since his arrival in 2021. He has established himself as a fundamental element in the relief corps.

In the regular season, the right-handed pitcher has a 2-2 record with an ERA of 2.17 in 51 games. In 45.2 innings pitched, he has allowed 26 hits, given up 20 walks, and struck out 53 batters, achieving a solid WHIP of 1.01.

In the past season, Brazobán pitched seven innings, recording a 0-0 record, an ERA of 2.57, five strikeouts, and one save, bringing experience and solidity to the bullpen.

The Major League pitcher joins Jimmy Cordero and Leury García as part of the first confirmed players to remain on the team, within the initial continuity moves while the franchise works on future additions.

With this signing, the Giants reinforce their strategy of maintaining the stability and veteran presence of key players, with the goal of competing for the championship in the next season.
