FEDOBAD Defines Plans for Dominican Badminton in 2024

Santo Domingo, R.D. – The executive committee of the Dominican Badminton Federation (FEDOBAD) held its first meeting of the year, establishing the priorities and key projects for the development of this sport in the country. The meeting focused on the preparation of the national team for the XXV Central American and Caribbean Sports Games Santo Domingo 2026. In addition, the organization and participation in three international events to be held in Dominican territory during the current year were discussed. The managers analyzed the competition schedule, training programs, and strategies to improve the athletes’ performance. Initiatives for the expansion and popularization of badminton at the national level were also addressed, with special attention to the training of new talents and the strengthening of provincial associations. In the meeting, FEDOBAD received the International Technical Director of Badminton for the upcoming Central American and Caribbean Games, Orlando Cala Martínez. Technical and planning aspects related to the Games were coordinated, a crucial event for the development of Dominican badminton. FEDOBAD reiterated its commitment to the continuous growth of badminton in the Dominican Republic, promoting comprehensive planning that combines high performance with national-level development programs, preparing for a year full of sporting challenges.
