The Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM), along with Juancito Sport, awarded the Juancito Sport Most Valuable Player award of the Round Robin to Eloy Jiménez, of the Toros del Este. The recognition is based on the vote of the national sports press, carried out through a weighted evaluation system. During the ceremony, Jiménez received a trophy and an economic incentive, in recognition of his outstanding performance in the semifinal stage of the championship, dedicated to Don Juan Marichal. Shantal Disla, LIDOM’s Brand Director, and Angelo Rodríguez, Juancito Sport’s Marketing Manager, were in charge of presenting the award. Jiménez was accompanied by Jorge Sturla, executive vice president of the Toros del Este, and Teoscar Hernández, Major League player and member of the bullfighting organization.
The award ceremony took place before the fourth game of the Final Series between the Toros del Este and the Leones del Escogido, held at the Francisco A. Micheli stadium in La Romana. Jiménez led the voting with 247 points, the result of 54 votes, including 21 first-place votes. The starting player participated in all 18 games of the Round Robin, establishing himself as one of the team’s key offensive figures. In the semifinal phase, the right-handed batter averaged .278, with an on-base percentage of .312 and a slugging percentage of .458, achieving an OPS of .770.
