SAN PEDRO DE MACORÍS – Los Soles del Este achieved a resounding victory over the Leones de Santo Domingo with a final score of 117-84 in an exciting regular season match of the Súper Liga LNB, held at the Rolando Ramírez Sports Complex. This triumph is crucial for the Suns, who now record a 2-7 record in the competition. On the other hand, the Lions are positioned with a 2-8 balance. The Suns’ offensive was relentless, especially in the third quarter, where they consolidated their dominance. An outstanding 17-7 run, with 5:40 left in the quarter, sealed the fate of the game. The partial scores of the match were: 32-16, 23-19, 31-14 and 31-26, demonstrating the superiority of the Suns in each stage of the game.

Devontae Shuler led the Suns’ offense with 24 points. Terry Larrier contributed 19 points, followed by Camry Reyes with 13 and Levil Bradley Jr. with 11. For the Leones, Gerardo Suero scored 19 points, while Reggie Quezada added 17. Kerry Richardson and Romaine Thomas contributed 13 points each. The Suns showed great efficiency in their shooting, with 57% effectiveness in field goals and 50% in three-pointers, surpassing the Lions’ 51%. In addition, they dominated the rebounds 35-16 and recorded 18 assists.

Upon reaching halftime, the Suns already had a 10-point lead (55-45), thanks to their dominance in rebounds (22-11) and better ball distribution (13 assists against 3 for the Lions). Although the Lions reacted in the second quarter, reducing the difference to six points (29-23), it was not enough to change the course of the game.

In an emotional moment, the management of the Soles del Este paid tribute to former player Domingo Rosario, recognizing him as a legend of Dominican basketball. The event was attended by Pedro Chalas, club president, as well as various government and civil authorities from San Pedro de Macorís.
