Bayamón, Puerto Rico – The Vaqueros de Bayamón announced this Tuesday a significant absence for the second game of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) final series against the Leones de Ponce.

Duarte, out due to injury

Chris Duarte, a key figure on the team and a finalist for the Most Valuable Player award of the season, will not be available due to a back injury sustained during the first match. Duarte, who scored 14 points in the first game, had to leave the game in the third quarter, visibly affected, and could not return.

“As a result of a physical discomfort in his back suffered during the first game of the final series, Christopher Duarte will not see action tonight against the Leones de Ponce. His progress continues to be evaluated day by day, and we trust in his prompt recovery,” reported the Vaqueros management in an official statement.
