Jacob deGrom, out of the next start due to shoulder fatigue

KANSAS CITY – The Texas Rangers have announced that right-handed pitcher Jacob deGrom will not be in the next start, scheduled for this Wednesday against the Royals. The main reason is shoulder fatigue.

Chris Young, the club’s president of baseball operations, reported that deGrom returned to Texas to be evaluated by Dr. Keith Meister, who performed his Tommy John surgery in June 2023.

The organization is handling the situation as part of a workload management. DeGrom accumulated 140.1 innings in the 2025 season, his most since 2019.

In the current season, the five-time All-Star has a 10-5 record with an ERA of 2.76, demonstrating a dominant level. In his last outing, on Friday in Toronto, he pitched five scoreless innings with five strikeouts.
