David Ortiz Immortalized on the Walk of Stars
The Boulevard of the Stars Foundation honored David Ortiz with the placement of his star on the emblematic Winston Churchill avenue in Santo Domingo. This recognition makes him the seventh Dominican to receive this distinction. The ceremony, led by Brenda Sánchez, celebrated Ortiz’s outstanding career in baseball, including his 20 seasons in the Major Leagues and his induction into the Cooperstown Hall of Fame in 2022.Ortiz expressed his gratitude to God and the foundation, motivating young baseball players to pursue their dreams with dedication and discipline. Carlos Batista Matos, president of the Foundation, and Héctor Gómez, sports chronicler, also participated in the event, highlighting the importance of this tribute. The Minister of Culture, Roberto Ángel Salcedo, and the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, were present, highlighting Ortiz’s influence on sports and his humility.I am very impressed and honored by this beautiful recognition.
