Cotuí: Corporate Softball Tournament Kicks Off with 67 Teams and Dedication to Kelvin Cruz

Cotuí, Sánchez Ramírez – The Softball Association of the province of Sánchez Ramírez has announced the start of the long-awaited XV Business Softball Tournament, an event that promises to be a sporting spectacle of great magnitude. The tournament, which will feature the participation of 67 teams, will be dedicated to engineer Kelvin Cruz, current Minister of Sports. The inauguration is scheduled for Saturday, December 6th, at 4:30 in the afternoon, at the Club 5 de Octubre stadium.

Event Details

Fabio de León Sánchez (Fabito), president of the association, informed that the opening ceremony will be attended by prominent figures from the sports and political fields.
  • The honoree, engineer Kelvin Cruz.
  • Garibaldy Bautista, president of the Dominican Softball Federation.
  • Luis Mejía Oviedo, IOC member.
  • Civil and military authorities of the province.
The tournament will bring together more than 1,300 softball players, fostering fellowship and a family atmosphere among the participants. During the opening ceremony, special recognitions will be given to personalities who have contributed to the development of softball in the province.

Tournament Structure

The championship will be divided into eight categories, and the matches will be played at night, alternating between several stadiums.

On Sundays, the action will continue from 9:00 in the morning in different stadiums in the province.

The leader expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Sports, as well as Senator Ricardo De los Santos, Representative Sadoky Duarte, Mayor José Eugenio Montilla, and entities such as Bancotui, Banreservas and Barrick Pueblo Viejo. Finally, an invitation was extended to the entire community of Cotuí and the province of Sánchez Ramírez to support the tournament and enjoy a sporting and family space.
