The minister emphasized that the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic officially sponsors the Dominican team, as part of its international promotion strategy. Collado also mentioned the alliance with the Miami Marlins to position the Dominican Republic brand within the stadium.

“We made an alliance with the Marlins where the ‘Dominican Republic’ area is located. It’s a club they have inside the stadium and it’s branded with the country’s brand. We are the only country that has exclusivity inside the stadium,” he affirmed.

The minister indicated that these initiatives are part of a strategy to expand the country’s image beyond traditional tourism. In that sense, Collado announced that the Dominican Republic will continue to promote its agenda of international sporting events, including golf and tennis tournaments. “Tomorrow the PGA starts, also the ATP tennis in Cap Cana and in May the PGA in Punta Cana de Corales. We are in the best moment because we understood that tourism is not only sun and beach, it is also sports, gastronomic, cultural and entertainment tourism,” he said. Finally, Collado sent a message of pride to the Dominican people, highlighting the national team’s effort in the tournament. “May all Dominicans feel proud. This team is playing with heart and representing our flag,” he concluded.
