Garibaldy Bautista Meets with Waterskiing Executives for the 2026 Games
The president of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD), Garibaldy Bautista, met with a delegation of national and international water skiing to discuss the preparations for this discipline in the lead-up to the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026. In the meeting, Mario Pigozzi, president of the Dominican Water Ski Federation, and José Antonio Pérez Priego, head of the International Water Ski Federation, participated. The delegation also included the presence of Diego Restrepo, international technical director, and Canaido Moz, president of the technical committee of the international organization. During the meeting, the managers expressed various concerns related to the installation that will host the waterskiing competitions at the regional event, to be held from July 24 to August 8 in the country. The representatives of the international federation reported that they carried out a technical survey of the venue where the discipline’s events will be held, preparing a report with the aspects that must be completed to meet the conditions required for the event. They also announced that a final technical inspection will be carried out in June by the international sports management, as a preliminary step to the competitions.The Olympic leader also pledged to channel the concerns presented to the organizing committee, with the aim of ensuring that the competition venue is in optimal condition. The delegation thanked the support of the Olympic body, highlighting the importance of joint work to strengthen the technical and organizational development of water skiing in the country.Engineer Bautista reiterated the Dominican Olympic Committee’s commitment to work in a coordinated manner with sports federations and the organizing committee of the games.
