Brazil and Argentina: Contrasts in the South American Women’s U-20
The Brazilian selection demonstrated its favoritism in the South American Women’s U-20 Championship by defeating Paraguay with a score of 1-3. On the other hand, Argentina had a less solid start, drawing 2-2 against Venezuela.
Brazil, after their defeat against Argentina in the group stage, recovered with goals from Nogueira, Giselle and Tainá. Alison Bareiro scored for Paraguay.

Argentina, although it led the scoreboard with goals from María Altgelt and Kishi Núñez, failed to maintain the advantage against Venezuela. Anggely Muñoz and Gellinott Reyes tied the match for the Vinotinto.
The match between Ecuador and Colombia ended with an Ecuadorian victory by 0-1, thanks to Rosa Flores’ goal.
The South American U-20 Championship grants four spots for the World Cup in Poland, which will be held in September.
The competition will continue on Thursday with the matches Colombia-Brazil, Venezuela-Paraguay and Argentina-Ecuador, corresponding to the second date of the final hexagonal.
