Tyler Soderstrom Signs Million-Dollar Extension with the Athletics
First baseman and outfielder Tyler Soderstrom has reached an agreement to extend his contract with the Athletics for seven years and $86 million, according to sources close to the organization. This agreement, which is still pending official confirmation, marks a milestone in the history of the franchise.
The extension could reach $131 million if certain incentives are met and the club’s option for an eighth year is exercised.
Soderstrom, 24, had a standout season in 2025, proving his worth on the field. He batted .276, hit 25 home runs, and drove in 93 runs in 158 games.
During the campaign, the player mainly played first base and left field, establishing himself as a key piece in the team’s offense.
Soderstrom is part of the Athletics’ emerging core, which includes American League Rookie of the Year Nick Kurtz. Recently, the team also added former National League batting champion Jeff McNeil to its ranks.
