Andersson García wins Player of the Week award for the third time
Santo Domingo – Andersson García, player of the Marineros de Puerto Plata, has won the Player of the Week award in La Súper Liga de la LNB for the third time this season. The election was close, with García surpassing Yeison Colomé by a narrow margin of one vote.
García, key in two victories for his team in three games played, averaged impressive figures: 15.6 points, 7.3 assists and 12.6 rebounds. His field goal percentage reached 58%, with an overall efficiency of 85.
García’s performance earned him 23 of the 70 votes cast by sports journalists covering the league, surpassing Yeison Colomé, of the Cañeros del Este, who obtained 22 votes.
Colomé also had an outstanding performance in three games, with his team achieving two victories. His numbers included 25.0 points, 5.3 assists, 2.0 rebounds, and a 47% field goal percentage, reaching an efficiency of 60.
Other players who received votes were Lazar Lugic (11 votes) from the Cañeros, Francis King Fitzgerald (7) and Luismal Ferreiras (3) from the Gigantes Basketball Club, Emmanuel Omogbo (2) from the Marineros, Malachi Richarsdson (1) from the Reales de La Vega and Kevin Obanor (1) from the Héroes de Moca.
In addition to Andersson García, the La Súper Liga de la LNB Player of the Week award has been won by Luismal Ferreiras, Jordan Hall, and Gerardo Suero.
