Barcelona – The emblematic footballer Alexia Putellas has decided to end her time as a Barcelona player, as announced by the club this Tuesday.

The announcement marks the end of a golden era for the Blaugrana team, where Putellas has left an indelible mark for 14 years.

The Catalan club paid tribute to its captain on social media, with an image of the two-time Ballon d’Or winner kissing the team’s crest.

Putellas arrived at Barcelona in 2012, from Levante, and leaves after a career full of successes.

Also, she is Barcelona’s all-time top scorer, with 232 goals.

Her individual awards include two Ballon d’Ors, a FIFA The Best award, and a UEFA Women’s Player of the Year award. With the Spanish national team, she has won a World Cup and two Nations Leagues.

The soccer player has shown great endurance throughout her career, overcoming various injuries.
