The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, currently number two in the world, has confirmed his absence from the Toronto Masters 1,000, joining the withdrawals of important figures such as Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic. Alcaraz announced the news through his social media.

After many consecutive weeks of non-stop competition, I will not be able to play in Toronto this year. I have small muscle problems and need to recover physically and mentally for what’s to come. I am very sorry for the tournament and for my fans in Canada. See you next year!
