The president was accompanied by the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, and other key officials. The main objective, according to Abinader, is for the Games to be held with transparency, efficiency, and a strong sense of national unity. In addition, he called on the population to get involved and enjoy this important sporting event. Abinader reiterated the government’s goal that Santo Domingo 2026 establish a new standard in the region.

“We hope these Games will be the best ever held and that they will be a source of pride for our entire nation,” he said.

Monegro informed that the Games will set historical participation records, with 6,220 athletes, more than a thousand already classified and 27 confirmed countries. He also emphasized that the organization is based on three fundamental pillars: austerity, modernity, and integration.

“Austerity is investing what needs to be invested, when it needs to be invested, and in what needs to be invested,” he pointed out.
