Tragedy in San Francisco de Macorís: Young man dies after ten days hospitalized due to gunshot wounds
The community of San Francisco de Macorís is in shock following the confirmation of the death of Luis Miguel Payano, a 30-year-old man who lost his life after fighting for his recovery for ten days at a health center. The man was seriously injured after being the victim of a shooting attack in the Vista al Valle sector.
Payano, who earned his living working as a delivery person at a local grocery store, received two gunshot wounds: one in the leg and another in his left side. These injuries caused critical complications that, unfortunately, led to his death after remaining under medical observation.
Relatives demand justice and clarification of the case
The victim’s father appeared at the police station to formalize the corresponding complaint and proceed with the removal of the body, once the rigorous studies by the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) were concluded. During his testimony, the father pointed directly to an individual identified only as “Papito” as one of those responsible for the assault.
I am unaware of the reasons for the attack. My son was a hardworking young man and had no conflicts with anyone, nor did he have a criminal record.
