Tragedy in San Carlos: Woman dies after brutal hammer attack
The community of San Carlos, in the National District, is in shock after the death of Yanely Yohanna Soto was confirmed this Monday. The woman lost her life after remaining in a coma for several days, as a result of the serious injuries caused during a violent attack that occurred while she was performing her duties.

The incident took place inside a lottery booth located on Jacinto Tomás de la Concha street. According to preliminary reports, the victim was attacked with a hammer to the head, an action that caused irreversible damage that ultimately cost them their life after an agonizing struggle at the hospital center where they remained admitted.

Due to this unfortunate event, the authorities have pointed to Wirme Manuel Geraldo, popularly known as Winer, as the main suspect, who is identified as the ex-partner of the deceased. It has been reported that the suspect is a native of Las Yayitas, in the province of Azua.
