UASD inaugurates the Félix Méndez Communication Room to strengthen public debate

The Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), through its Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences, officially opened the Félix Méndez Communication Room. This new space, integrated into the Dominican Observatory of Public Policies (ODPP), was created with the goal of fostering social dialogue, citizen participation, and critical analysis of state policies, reaffirming the role of the academy in strengthening Dominican institutions.

The university rector, Dr. Jorge Asjana David, presided over the ceremony and highlighted the figure of Félix Méndez, whom he defined as a fundamental reference for academic thought, communication, and social struggle. According to university authorities, this space seeks to honor the legacy of Méndez, who passed away in 2022, ensuring that his vision remains relevant for new generations.

The university honors with this initiative the memory of a citizen whose life and thought constitute a legacy for present and future generations. With this space, the academy will be much closer to society, representing it through the media.
