Tragedy in Verón: One-year-old girl dies after being shot in her home
Deep dismay has gripped the community of the Cristinita sector, in Verón-Punta Cana, following the tragic death of a one-year-old girl, who lost her life on the night of this Wednesday, September 16, after being shot while inside her home.
The little girl, identified as Naome Fleurante, was rushed to the Verón-Punta Cana Hospital around 9:45 at night by her brother, a 17-year-old teenager. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, the minor did not survive due to the severity of the projectile wound she had in her left hemithorax.

According to the statements provided by the victim’s brother to the authorities, the incident occurred in the midst of an exchange of gunfire in the vicinity of their residence. According to the testimony, the shooting originated during a pursuit between the occupants of a vehicle and a motorcycle that were traveling through the area.
One of the shots fired during the confrontation managed to penetrate the walls of the home, fatally striking the minor who was inside the property.
