Singapore launches exclusive dating platform for civil servants
The Government of Singapore has taken an innovative step in its strategy to combat low birth rates and encourage the creation of new families. This week, authorities launched FirstDate, a digital dating platform designed specifically for public sector employees.
The initiative, which is currently in its testing phase, is aimed at young civil servants between 21 and 35 years old who are looking to establish romantic relationships. The system seeks to facilitate meetings between people with common interests within the same state structure.
How does the matchmaking system work?
To be part of this program, interested parties must complete a registration with their personal details and answer a detailed questionnaire. This information is the basis used by the system to determine compatibility between users.
- The process uses the Gale-Shapley stable marriage algorithm to ensure accurate pairings.
- The call for registration will be open until next October 5th.
- Single, divorced, or widowed officials who meet the established criteria may participate.
After the registration period and data analysis are completed, the system will assign a single partner option to each participant, thus consolidating a government effort to strengthen the country’s social and demographic fabric.
