Resounding success at the 28th International Book Fair after 11 days of culture
The twenty-eighth edition of the Santo Domingo International Book Fair comes to an end with an extremely positive outcome. Over 11 days, exhibitors and booksellers have witnessed a massive influx of the public and a commercial dynamism that reaffirms the Dominican population’s interest in literature and knowledge.
Historian and writer Guarionex Alcántara highlighted the vitality of the event, noting that the enthusiasm of the attendees was evident from the early hours of each day. According to Alcántara, there is a growing demand for valuable content, debunking the idea that reading has lost ground in today’s society.
People are hungry, the people are growing in their intellect.

Among the most requested titles in his space were iconic works such as One Hundred Years of Solitude and The Four Agreements.
For her part, Elena Frías, another of the booksellers present, highlighted the success in the commercialization of specialized materials, such as penal codes and laws, which had a notable reception.
