Relatives of person involved in the SeNaSa case arrested during operations
In a recent judicial move, Dominican authorities executed several raids that resulted in the arrest of the parents and brother of Ángel Luis Guzmán, a former collaborator of the National Health Insurance (SeNaSa) who is currently facing legal proceedings linked to alleged irregularities in said institution.
The information was confirmed by the defense attorney, Billy Gerónimo, who detailed that the operations were carried out at the relatives’ residences, after which they were transferred to the headquarters of the Attorney General’s Office for investigation purposes.

The legal representative of the affected parties pointed out that, so far, it has not been clarified what the direct link of these individuals would be to the events imputed to Ángel Luis Guzmán, who has remained under a preventive detention measure for several months.
We understand that the Public Prosecutor’s Office knows that his mother, his father, and his brother have never had any type of connection to the SeNaSa case, nor to the actions of their son who is a defendant in this process.

Defense stance
Gerónimo emphasized that his clients are hardworking people, highlighting that both the father and mother work as janitors at the National Health Service (SNS). According to the defense, the family members had already been subject to previous administrative interrogations at their workplaces, which is why the recent arrest has generated uncertainty regarding the new elements that the Public Prosecutor’s Office may be handling.
The legal defense of the detainees remains waiting for the authorities to present the legal grounds that motivated these raids and the subsequent measures restricting their freedom, seeking to clarify the situation of the three citizens regarding the ongoing investigations of the SeNaSa case.
