Rain forces the postponement of the duel between Estrellas and Águilas in Santiago once again

The matchup between the Estrellas Orientales and the Águilas Cibaeñas, scheduled for this Monday at Estadio Cibao, has been suspended for the second time due to persistent weather conditions affecting various parts of the Dominican Republic.

The clash, which had already been rescheduled after a first failed attempt last Wednesday, could not progress beyond the top of the second inning, keeping a scoreless tie on the scoreboard.

Official field decision

The officiating crew, under the direction of Edward Pinales, conducted an exhaustive inspection of the playing field. After evaluating the condition of the field and the continued rainfall, they determined that the necessary guarantees for the safe development of the match did not exist. The technical meeting included the participation of managers Héctor Borg, on behalf of the greens, and Luis “Pipe” Urueta, who leads the Aguiluchos.

The Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) will soon announce the new date to complete the game.

Tournament details

This event marks the second suspension due to weather factors in the current 2026-2027 championship, which pays posthumous tribute to the businessman from San Francisco de Macorís, Héctor José Rizek Llabaly.

  • The game remains pending a new official schedule from LIDOM.
  • Both teams are scheduled to meet again at Estadio Cibao on Wednesday, November 4, with the start of the action set for 7:30 at night.
