Public Prosecutor’s Office requests pretrial detention against criminal network of Colombian origin
The Public Prosecutor’s Office has filed a request for pretrial detention against three Colombian citizens, accused of leading a criminal network dedicated to recruiting, sedating, and robbing men at various entertainment venues in the Dominican capital.
Those involved in this case have been identified as Diego Armando González, who also uses the name Jain Zhou Xiao, along with Natali Valera Castillo González, known by the aliases Andrea or Tati, and Laura Valentina Villegas, alias Tatiana.
Modus operandi of the gang
According to the details set forth in the official investigation, the women who make up this network established contact with their victims in nightlife establishments. Subsequently, they managed to move the affected individuals to apartments or hotels, where they administered sedative substances to leave them in a state of total helplessness.
Once the victims lost consciousness, the members of the network proceeded to steal valuables, including:
- Cell phones and electronic devices such as computers.
- High-value watches and clothing.
- Cash.
- Bank cards.
The investigation was initiated following several complaints related to events that occurred between August 30 and September 6, 2026, in different sectors of the National District.
Tracking and capture
Tracking the stolen bank cards was key for the authorities to identify those responsible, as suspicious purchases made shortly after the crimes were detected. Likewise, security camera footage from shopping centers allowed for the confirmation of the defendants’ participation in the events.
Following intelligence work, the authorities executed a raid on September 11 at an apartment located in the Residencial Arrecifes del Sol, in Santo Domingo East, where the three suspects were located and arrested.
Currently, the Public Prosecutor’s Office maintains the request for a coercive measure while the judicial process against the three defendants for their connection to this criminal structure advances.
