Insecurity in Santiago: Security agent stripped of his motorcycle at gunpoint

A new criminal act has generated concern in the city of Santiago. Cristino Rosario, who works as a private security agent, was the victim of a violent assault this Wednesday while he was traveling on his motorcycle after finishing his workday.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:35 in the morning in the vicinity of the traffic light located in La Otra Banda, specifically at the intersection with Hermanas Mirabal Avenue. According to the victim’s account, the event took place during a moment of daily traffic when they stopped to allow other vehicles to pass.

I am security and I was already returning home. I gave them space to let the cars pass and right there they jumped me in a CG2.

Heist details and call to the authorities

Rosario detailed that the attackers, two men who appeared to be under 35 years old, intercepted him by surprise and held him at gunpoint. After intimidating him, they managed to strip him of his motorcycle and quickly fled the scene, taking advantage of the lack of surveillance present at that moment.

The worker expressed his deep concern by highlighting that the assault occurred in broad daylight, in an area where the flow of citizens heading to their jobs is constant during the early morning hours. Given this situation, the affected individual made an urgent call to police authorities to intensify preventive patrolling on the main avenues of the province.

To date, no arrests have been reported in connection with this case. Security agencies are expected to initiate the corresponding investigations to locate those responsible and recover the stolen vehicle.
