Two men captured after armed robbery in San Cristobal
Officers from the National Police Operational Unit managed to capture two men in the act, accused of robbing a citizen of his motorcycle while he was traveling along the 6 de Noviembre highway, in the province of San Cristóbal.
The detainees were identified as Carlos Alberto Pinales, 19, a resident of the Las Flores sector, and Franklin Ambrosio, 23, a native of Boca de Nigua. The rapid intervention of the agents allowed not only for the arrest of those involved, but also for the immediate recovery of the stolen vehicle.
Operation details
After committing the assault, the individuals attempted to evade the authorities by fleeing separately. However, they were intercepted and neutralized on the Palenque highway, specifically in the Niza sector. According to the official report, the details of the incident are as follows:
- Recovered vehicle: A Bajaj Platina 100 motorcycle, black, without a license plate.
- Vehicle used by the assailants: An X-1000 motorcycle, model AX100, black, license plate N439145.
- Weapons seized: A homemade firearm was seized from Pinales, while two knife-type bladed weapons were confiscated from Ambrosio.
The detainees were not carrying identity documents at the time they were intercepted by police officers during the pursuit.
Following the arrest, the individuals were transferred along with the collected evidence to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, where they will face the corresponding legal charges for the committed act.
