Hospital modernization: Nuestra Señora de Regla Hospital receives state-of-the-art CT scanner
The health system in the Peravia province has taken a significant step with the delivery of a modern 128-slice CT scanner to the Nuestra Señora de Regla Provincial Hospital. The delivery was led by Dr. Julio César Landrón, representing the National Health Service (SNS), marking a milestone as it is the first time this medical center has had equipment of this technological magnitude.
This new device stands out for its advanced helical imaging technology and artificial intelligence, facilitating the acquisition of three-dimensional images with superior precision. Among its technical benefits, its ability to reduce radiation exposure by up to 80% stands out, which is fundamental for the safety of pediatric patients and people who require constant monitoring.
It constitutes a transcendental step for the Southern region, the provinces of Peravia, Azua, Ocoa, and the entire surrounding area, to have a state-of-the-art CT scanner located midway along that major highway.

Impact on public care
During the event, it was emphasized how the Public Health Network has transformed access to specialized diagnostics. Dr. Landrón highlighted that procedures that previously forced families to make extreme financial sacrifices are now offered free of charge, guaranteeing dignified and timely care for the population.

The director of the center, Dr. José Lara Brea, expressed his gratitude for the incorporation of this tool, which will allow for highly complex studies to be performed without the need to transfer patients outside the province. For her part, the provincial governor, Ángela Yadira Báez, described the arrival of the CT scanner as a historic opportunity for the development of local healthcare.
The event was attended by important figures from the region, including Senator Julito Fulcar Encarnación, the regional director of Valdesia, Dr. Marcelino Fulgencio, and representatives from the provincial Public Health directorate, who reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening hospital infrastructure for the benefit of all citizens.
