Nino Dollar Case: Coercive measure request declined to traffic court
The judicial process against Carlos José Troche Rodríguez, widely known in the public sphere as “Nino Dollar,” has undergone a procedural shift. The judge of the Permanent Attention Office of the National District, Rigoberto Sena, has determined that the file regarding the tragic accident that occurred on August 15 be referred to a traffic court, considering it the competent jurisdiction to hear the case.
Details of the fatal accident
The Public Prosecutor’s Office identifies Troche Rodríguez as the person directly responsible for the road accident that claimed the lives of Wilmer Rodríguez and his daughter, Wilkaren. According to the investigations, the accused struck the victims with his vehicle and, after the initial collision, allegedly continued driving, running over the bodies and dragging them along the road.
The incident also left one survivor, identified as Arianna Ciprián, who suffered extremely serious injuries. According to the report presented to the court, Ciprián has fractures in both legs and other severe injuries that could lead to permanent disability, drastically affecting her quality of life and productive capacity.
Measures and reactions
Given the gravity of the facts, the prosecuting body has formally requested the imposition of pretrial detention for the defendant. This request is supported by a complaint filed by the relatives of the deceased victims, who have expressed their deep indignation at the decision to transfer the case to a traffic court, demanding that the full weight of the law be applied.
The relatives of Wilmer and Wilkaren Rodríguez have expressed their demand for justice, rejecting any measure that could delay or soften the criminal responsibility for the loss of their loved ones.
