New interruption on Santo Domingo Metro Line 2 causes chaos and delays

The capital’s mass transit system, the Santo Domingo Metro, experienced a new technical incident this Friday that affected the mobility of hundreds of users. On this occasion, Line 2 was the scene of an unexpected stoppage that kept passengers stranded for more than an hour at the Centro Olímpico Juan Pablo Duarte station.

During the time the interruption lasted, citizens expressed their dissatisfaction with the lack of official information regarding the reason for the inconvenience. The situation caused significant delays for those heading to their jobs and personal commitments at the start of the workday.

Recent service background

This incident occurs just 48 hours after the transport system recorded another critical failure. Last Wednesday, an electrical breakdown kept operations paralyzed for nearly three hours, impacting mobility in various parts of the National District.

The recurrence of these failures in the Santo Domingo Metro has generated concern among users, who depend daily on this means of transport to move around the city.
