Police Transformation: The New Public Service Model optimizes citizen security
The National Police has launched the New Public Police Service Model (NMSPP), a comprehensive strategy designed to strengthen territorial control and raise security standards throughout the country. This initiative, a fundamental pillar of the institutional reform process, seeks to modernize operations through data-driven management and a more efficient surveillance structure.
Major General Ernesto Rodríguez García, director general of the institution, detailed that the scheme is based on the implementation of quadrant corridors. This system allows for the precise delimitation of the areas of responsibility for each police command, facilitating more rigorous supervision and tactical deployment in accordance with the reality of each sector.
Technology at the service of prevention
During his participation in LA Semanal, led by President Luis Abinader, Rodríguez García highlighted the role of technology in this new stage. The institution has integrated an advanced digital platform that systematizes citizen complaints and generates heat maps, allowing for the real-time identification of critical points with the highest incidence of crime.
The combination of this territorial structure with the data generated by the technological platform allows for determining where to concentrate the resources and operational actions of the National Police.

Benefits of the quadrant model
- Strategic targeting: Allows police efforts to be directed according to the specific needs detected in each area.
- Resource optimization: Facilitates a smarter and more efficient distribution of personnel and equipment across the territory.
- Precise monitoring: Ensures more exhaustive control over recorded incidents, improving the capacity to respond to crime.
- Institutional transformation: Consolidates reform efforts to offer a more accessible and effective public service to citizens.
With this new approach, the National Police seeks not only to improve operational oversight, but also to ensure that patrol planning and prevention are always based on verifiable information, ensuring greater peace of mind for the Dominican population.
