Demand for structural assessments increases due to seismic risk in the Dominican Republic
The interest of citizens and the private sector in knowing the safety of their buildings has experienced significant growth. Currently, the competent authorities are managing a backlog of more than 2,000 pending evaluation requests, focused on determining the level of vulnerability of various structures to the possibility of a seismic event.
This outlook was presented during the recent official press conference dedicated to the 2026 National Earthquake Evacuation Drill. According to the data provided by the relevant agencies, the volume of requests reflects a greater preventive awareness on the part of the Dominican population.
Prevention as a national priority
The fundamental purpose of these inspections is to identify potential risks in homes and private complexes. By knowing the actual condition of the buildings, occupants can make informed decisions about the necessary safety measures to protect their lives and property.
Today at this moment we have more than 2,000 requests that we have to respond to.
