Milwaukee dresses in glory: Brewers celebrate their first World Series title with a historic parade

The city of Milwaukee experienced an unprecedented day this Friday, as more than 750,000 fans gathered to celebrate the conquest of the first World Series in the history of the Brewers. The massive parade, which traveled through the city center, became the single-day event with the highest attendance recorded in the state, marking an indelible milestone for the franchise and its followers.

This celebration closed a 44-year waiting cycle. Unlike 1982, when the city poured into the streets after falling to the St. Louis Cardinals, this time the atmosphere was one of absolute jubilation after a dream season where the team eliminated the back-to-back champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers, to hoist the Fall Classic trophy.

Today we are all one family. Let’s hold on to that feeling.

Mark Attanasio, Brewers owner.

A triumph built on strategy and cohesion

The 2026 championship is the result of admirable consistency, with eight postseason appearances in the last nine years. The team proved that you don’t need to rely solely on home run power to win; in fact, the Brewers led the Major Leagues in on-base percentage and walks, prioritizing intelligence on the basepaths and relentless defense.

Among the protagonists who made this feat possible are:

  • William Contreras: The Venezuelan catcher, who was awarded as the World Series Most Valuable Player.
  • Jackson Chourio: A fundamental piece in the offense and the future of the team.
  • Brice Turang: Key in the infield throughout the entire postseason.
  • Aaron Ashby: Outstanding pitcher who set a record of 18 consecutive innings without allowing runs in the playoffs.

Manager Pat Murphy, addressing the crowd gathered at Summerfest, emphasized that this achievement belongs to every single fan who supported the team from day one. For his part, outfielder Sal Frelick described the moment as an extraordinary experience that brought the entire community together.

Milwaukee Public Schools joined the celebration by suspending their activities, allowing students and teachers to join a celebration that, more than a sports title, represents the pride of a city that finally sees its team reach the pinnacle of professional baseball.
