Mexico seals its participation in the 2026 Norceca with a victory against Costa Rica
In a standout day at the Ricardo Gioriver Arias Volleyball Palace, the Mexican women’s national team achieved a resounding 3-0 victory over their Costa Rican counterparts during the 2026 Norceca Continental Championship. The Mexican team imposed their rhythm of play from the start, closing the sets with scores of 25-19, 25-7, and 25-15.
With this result, the Mexican team concludes the tournament phase with a record of two wins and two losses. On the other hand, the Costa Rican representative ends its journey in the competition without a single victory, accumulating a 0-4 record.
Leadership on the court
Mexico’s attack was led by Aime Margarita Topete, who emerged as the top scorer of the match by recording 13 points, standing out with nine effective attacks and two blocks. Joining her offense were Sofía Maldonado Díaz, with 12 points, and Karina Angélica Flores Gámez, who contributed 10 points to the Mexican cause.
The technical superiority of the Mexican players was evident in all facets of the game, outperforming their rivals in key statistical categories.
