Tragic discovery in La Romana: Man found lifeless in septic tank
The Gato community, in the province of La Romana, is in shock following the discovery of the lifeless body of Héctor Bienvenido Cedeño Ávila. The man, who resided at kilometer 10 of Cumayasa, had been reported missing days earlier, sparking an intense search that concluded with the tragic discovery on the farm where he worked as a caretaker.

A detail that has raised alarms among investigators is that the septic tank where the body was located was sealed with cement. Agents from the Central Directorate of Investigation (DICRIM), members of the Preventive Police, Civil Defense personnel, and staff from the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) participated in the rescue and body recovery efforts.
