Tension in La Cuaba: Businessman reports threats and risk of violence in recycling project

Businessman Luis Espinal, responsible for the equipment destined for the construction of a recycling plant in the community of Los Aguacates, in the municipal district of La Cuaba, in Pedro Brand, has raised his voice regarding the growing wave of confrontation in the area. According to his statements, groups opposing the project are fostering a climate of hostility that could lead to bloodshed.

Espinal reported that he has filed a complaint with the La Guáyiga Prosecutor’s Office for the third time, denouncing physical assaults and death threats. The businessman maintains that his work is purely professional, having been hired to carry out construction work on the land, a situation that has made him a target of constant intimidation.

Fatal consequences and call to the authorities

The situation has escalated to worrying levels, claiming the life of Railly Antonio Rodríguez Soriano last Saturday. Espinal links this tragic event to the actions of individuals who, according to his report, have been hired specifically to generate chaos and violence in the area.

The businessman has requested the urgent intervention of the competent authorities to prevent the problem from escalating further, expressing his concern for the physical integrity of the workers and the safety of his equipment, which have been threatened with being set on fire.

The complainant reported that during a recent visit to the camp to supervise his machinery, he was assaulted and subsequently detained by police officers, although he was released hours later. Likewise, Espinal emphasized that these types of incidents are not isolated, pointing out that on previous occasions there have been reports of assaults against vulnerable people, including women and the elderly present in the area.

Finally, Luis Espinal made an energetic call to the authorities to conduct an exhaustive investigation, adopt the necessary preventive measures, and guarantee the safety of all those involved, thus avoiding new confrontations that put the lives of citizens in La Cuaba at risk.
