The stellar Dominican second baseman, Ketel Marte, has rejoined the Arizona Diamondbacks after a two-week absence. The player appeared once again at Chase Field following that episode at Fenway Park, where he did not attend the game against the Boston Red Sox, a decision he himself described as a mistake for which he feels deeply regretful.
In statements made to Alofoke Deportes, Marte explained that his behavior was the result of a moment of personal frustration. According to his account, after waking up with severe physical pain that morning, he made the decision not to go to the stadium, an action he acknowledges affected the trust of his coaching staff and teammates.

During his time away from the diamond, Marte was initially placed on the restricted list and subsequently on the 10-day injured list, due to inflammation in his left knee detected after an MRI in Phoenix. Before resuming his activities, the player held private conversations with several team members and complied with his manager Torey Lovullo’s request to offer a formal apology to the entire group.
Lovullo, who has maintained a close and almost fatherly relationship with the Dominican player for a decade, highlighted the importance of the maturity shown by Marte in taking responsibility:
