Juan Garrigó Mejía formalizes his resignation to assume leadership in the PRM

Juan Garrigó Mejía has made official his departure from the position of Vice Minister of Social and Community Management. This decision responds to his firm intention to dedicate his efforts and time exclusively to the new duties he will perform as Secretary General of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM).

The political leader emphasized that his resignation is based on a principle of institutional coherence. As he explained, the position of secretary general requires a constant territorial presence, absolute dedication, and an uninterrupted work agenda that seeks to strengthen ties with the leadership and the militancy of the pro-government organization.

There are responsibilities that one leaves behind, but there are commitments that do not end: serving the country is one of them.

Gratitude to President Abinader and management vision

During the announcement, Garrigó Mejía expressed his gratitude to President Luis Abinader for the trust placed in his management during his time in the Government. He assured that this experience was fundamental to consolidating his vocation for service and his vision of public policy close to the needs of the citizenry.

In his new phase as secretary general, the leader has set clear objectives to strengthen the party’s structure:

  • Actively listen to the membership throughout the national territory.
  • Optimize internal organization and modernize the PRM’s communication mechanisms.
  • Foster greater spaces for participation for party members.
  • Work in close collaboration with the high national leadership, including the party president, Luis Abinader, and the executive president, Deligne Ascención.

Garrigó Mejía reiterated that his management at the head of the General Secretariat will maintain an open-door policy, prioritizing dialogue and recognition for those who work daily for the organization’s ideals. The leader concluded by reaffirming that his main focus will be constant work, under the premise that closeness is the fundamental pillar of modern politics.
