Joel Santos bets on unity and strengthening the PRM ahead of 2028
Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) leader Joel Santos highlighted the relevance of the recent assembly held by the political organization, describing it as a fundamental pillar to consolidate internal unity with a view to the upcoming 2028 electoral processes.
Santos emphasized that the cohesion achieved in this meeting must be the starting point for the ruling party to maintain a constant focus during the remainder of the current government administration. According to the leader, the goal is to close the 2026-2028 period with significant results that support the continuity of the PRM’s political project.
Without a doubt, this meeting is an important step towards party unity ahead of the 2028 elections. We must continue working on that foundation so that this Government can have a significant conclusion in the period we have left.

Institutional development and strengthening vision
Beyond electoral aspirations, Santos stressed that the party’s work must focus on executing a solid growth plan that responds to the real needs of Dominicans. The leader pointed out that the central purpose is to transform the national economy:
- Promote the definitive transition from a middle-income economy to a fully developed nation.
- Ensure that economic growth translates into better living conditions for the population.
- Maintain the PRM’s capacity to lead the country after the current government cycle ends.

In his analysis of Dominican democracy, Joel Santos defended the need to promote strong political institutions. The leader clarified that, although his priority is the strengthening of the PRM, national well-being depends on the health of the democratic system as a whole.
