Joaquín Balaguer Foundation commemorates the 120th anniversary of the former president’s birth with a special lunch
This Tuesday, September 1st, the Joaquín Balaguer Foundation will hold a commemorative lunch in honor of the 120th anniversary of the birth of the former president of the Dominican Republic, Joaquín Balaguer. The event, which will take place in the halls of the Marriott Hotel in BlueMall, Santo Domingo, will bring together a select group of more than one hundred friends, former officials, and former legislators who were key figures in the administrations of the late political leader.
A reunion of historical figures
The organization of this meeting began more than a month ago through a digital call, where former collaborators joined to coordinate this tribute. Joaquín Ricardo, president of the Foundation and former foreign minister, highlighted that the main purpose is to strengthen ties between those who shared decades of political and personal trajectory alongside the statesman.
The Foundation wanted to organize this lunch as a great opportunity to be able to share with great friends and fellow party members whom we have not seen for years and have not coincided in the same place.

The leader stressed that the event will serve as a space of camaraderie to exchange anecdotes and honor the memory of the one who was their guide, teacher, and political leader. Among the confirmed guests are prominent figures of Balaguerism, including former presidents of both legislative chambers and high-level former officials.
Logistical details and exclusive access
Due to the relevance of the event and the hotel’s security policies, entry will be strictly limited to those who completed their registration in advance. The organizers have emphasized that access will be exclusive to those on the official guest list, thus ensuring the organization and privacy of the event.
