Jared Oliva returns to the Toros del Este to boost the roster in LIDOM

The Toros del Este have confirmed the return of American outfielder Jared Oliva, who joins the La Romana franchise’s ranks once again to strengthen the group of imported players for this season of the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM). The news was ratified by Jesús Mejía, the team’s general manager, who is confident in the immediate impact the player can generate.

Oliva, 29, is a familiar face in La Romana. During his performance in the previous campaign, he played in 15 games in which he posted a .245 batting average, hit one home run, three doubles, and demonstrated his aggressiveness on the base paths by stealing seven bases.

A reinforcement with experience and speed

Despite having a 2026 season marked by injuries, the outfielder maintained a consistent performance. In the Major Leagues, he participated in seven games with the San Francisco Giants, while in the minor league circuit, he reached a .266 average and achieved 16 stolen bases in 19 attempts, reaffirming his ability to contribute to the dynamic game.

He is a proven player in LIDOM who brings speed, solid defense, and a productive bat. He strengthens the roster immediately.

Onboarding details and upcoming challenges

The player will arrive in the country this weekend and will be under the orders of manager Víctor Estévez, who will decide when his official debut will be. Oliva takes the place of utility player Peyton Eeles, who was temporarily released after suffering physical discomfort during the preseason. The team’s management has indicated that Eeles could return to the roster once he is fully recovered.

Currently, the Toros del Este hold a 3-3 record, placing them in third place in the standings. The team is preparing to face the Leones del Escogido this Saturday and Sunday. It is worth noting that Sunday’s game will be special, as the organization will celebrate the Pink Afternoon, an initiative in support of the fight against breast cancer that will offer a 2-for-1 ticket promotion for those who attend wearing a pink garment.
