ITLA and SpaceX explore strategic alliances to boost technological education in the Dominican Republic
The Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA) is advancing an ambitious collaboration agenda with executives from SpaceX and xAI, with the goal of closing the digital divide and boosting training in cutting-edge technologies within the Dominican territory. These meetings mark a milestone in the search for solutions that integrate high-speed connectivity with Artificial Intelligence tools.
The rector of ITLA, Jimmy Rosario Bernard, has led the work sessions together with Katerina Álvarez, Strategic Connectivity Manager at Starlink. The delegation also included the participation of Wilfredo Fernández and Gabriela Castillo Madrid, representatives of xAI, who discussed how technological infrastructure can serve as a catalyst for academic development.
Key pillars of the collaboration: AI and rural connectivity
The alliance focuses on three fundamental pillars that seek to transform the national educational landscape:
- Artificial Intelligence Training: Implementation of Grok, xAI’s technology, as a pedagogical resource for students and teachers, facilitating the learning of advanced digital skills.
- Connectivity expansion: Use of the Starlink satellite network to bring high-quality internet to rural areas, allowing technological education to reach communities with limited access.
- Global talent development: Alignment of ITLA’s academic offerings, which boast an employability rate of over 90%, with the real demands of the international technology market.
Through the democratization of knowledge, we transform technology into an accessible bridge for Dominican youth to lead the future.
