INPOSDOM and the Ministry of Agriculture celebrate 50 years of the National Cocoa Commission with a commemorative stamp
The Dominican Postal Institute (INPOSDOM), in a strategic alliance with the Ministry of Agriculture and the National Cocoa Commission, formally presented a special postal issue to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the aforementioned Commission. This recognition highlights half a century of uninterrupted work in strengthening the cocoa sector, a fundamental pillar of the economy and the export identity of the Dominican Republic.
The event, held at the Hipólito Mejía auditorium of the Ministry of Agriculture, was attended by the head of the portfolio, Francisco Oliverio Espaillat Bencosme, and various authorities from the sector. The initiative seeks to honor the effort of generations of producers who have positioned Dominican cocoa as a benchmark of quality in international markets.
This small seal carries with it a great history; it carries the effort of thousands of men and women who, for generations, have worked our land.

Fernando Quiñones, deputy director of INPOSDOM, highlighted during his speech that this philatelic piece transcends its collectible value. As he explained, the stamp functions as a window that projects the quality, pride, and dedication of national producers to the world. For his part, the executive director of the National Cocoa Commission, Víctor Hidalgo Zapata, emphasized that this crop is not only vital for the economy, but also a key axis in environmental conservation and the sustainable development of rural areas.
