INEFI promotes school sports with a massive event in Greater Santo Domingo and San Cristóbal

The National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI) carried out a significant sports impact day this Tuesday, achieving a simultaneous intervention in 30 educational centers located in Greater Santo Domingo and the province of San Cristóbal. The initiative is part of the institution’s ongoing efforts to strengthen physical education and promote a sports culture within the Dominican school system.

The deployment, which consisted of the delivery of sports equipment and the refurbishment of courts, was led by the executive director of INEFI, Alberto Rodríguez Mella. The official personally supervised the work from the Max Henríquez Ureña Polytechnic, located in Los Alcarrizos, where he was able to interact with the educational community and student athletes in the area.

School sports and physical education are fundamental for comprehensive development. It is not just about providing equipment, but about creating the conditions for our children and youth to practice sports, develop discipline, strengthen their values, and discover talents that will proudly represent the Dominican Republic.

During the meeting, Rodríguez Mella highlighted the high level of enthusiasm shown by students and teachers. Likewise, he announced that this assistance and infrastructure program will not be limited to the areas recently intervened, but that INEFI plans to extend these sessions to various provinces across the national territory, fulfilling its mission to equip school communities with the necessary tools for comprehensive development.

With these actions, the organization reaffirms its role as a central hub in creating optimal spaces for sports practice, committing to the development of healthy youth with clear goals within athletic disciplines.
