Stable and hot weather conditions will dominate this Tuesday in the Dominican Republic

The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET) has reported that a significant improvement in weather conditions is expected across the national territory for this Tuesday. The influence of a high-pressure system, located in the North Atlantic, has allowed the weather to stabilize, considerably reducing the incidence of rainfall that affected the country during the past weekend.

As explained by forecaster Damaris Mercedes, the current outlook is characterized by the absence of meteorological alerts and warnings, marking a cessation of the intense and frequent rains that predominated in previous days.

Intense heat: recommendations for the population

The forecast for today points to mostly clear skies. The combination of winds coming from the southeast, which carry warm and humid air, will cause an increase in temperatures, creating a hot environment across much of the country.

The rains that were present over the weekend will continue to decrease in intensity and frequency.

Faced with this scenario of high temperatures, Alofoke Deportes echoes the recommendations issued by meteorological authorities to safeguard the health of citizens:

  • Maintain constant hydration throughout the day.
  • Wear lightweight clothing, preferably in light colors.
  • Avoid direct exposure to sunlight during the peak radiation hours, between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
  • Pay special attention to vulnerable groups, such as children, the elderly, and pregnant women, ensuring they remain in cool, well-ventilated spaces.
